Gleanings From Psalm 119
Vs. 69 The arrogant and godless have put
together a lie against me, but I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.
When evil lies are spoken against us, we must keep
our eyes upon His Word. He has promised to deliver us from the lies of the
enemy
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will
help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 Behold, all they that were incensed against
thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that
strive with thee shall perish.
12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find
them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee
shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy
right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

As we get closer to the
Messiah Yeshua’s return, and the world system becomes more ungodly (dull
andbrutal) We need to continually delight in His Law/Word of God (Torah) – ( Connotes the whole will of God as imparted to man for his
teaching) and let His Word guide us and be our light in the darkness.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so
shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he
shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also
in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

-Precepts (pikudim)- Particular guidelines for the Redeemed
-Way (derech) – The path of life delineated for the Redeemed in the Torah
-Commandments (mitzvot)-There is a great reward for walking in them
-Statutes (hukim)—Permanent laws regulating the life of an individual as a member of society
-Ordinances (mishpatim, beter translated “judgments”) The judicial standard for fair dealings
-Word (debar or imrah) – General term for the expressed will of God
