Matthew 12:22
22 Then some people brought him a man

could both speak and see[2]
Quote Of The Day:
John
Alexander Dowie
“We dare not listen to the Church when it
teaches that Christ has changed, that God repented of His gifts and that the Gospel
has been emasculated. To those who say the gifts of healing have passed away we
reply, PROVE IT!”
Deborah’s Drash Commentary:
35 Facts About Sickness
and Healing[3]
Part 1
1.Health was natural and eternal before the Fall
Genesis 1:26-31, 2:17
26 And God said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto
them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and
have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
every living thing that moveth upon the earth
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you
every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and
every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it
shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to
every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein
there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was
so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had
made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning
were the sixth day.
Gen 1:26-31 (KJV)
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof
thou shalt surely die.
Gen 2:17 (KJV)
2.Both death and sickness originated with sin and
are now being propagated by Satan
Romans 5:12-21
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered
into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that
all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the
world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam
to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression,
who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is
the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the
grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ,
hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it was by one that
sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to
condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death
reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift
of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment
came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the
free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many
were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the
offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death,
even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus
Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:12-21 (KJV)
Job
2:6-7
6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold,
he is in thine hand; but save his life.
7 So went Satan forth from the presence
of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his
crown.
Job 2:6-7 (KJV)
Luke
13:16
16 And ought not this woman, being a
daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed
from this bond on the sabbath day?
Luke 13:16 (KJV)
John
10:10
10 The thief cometh not, but for to
steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and
that they might have it more abundantly.
John 10:10 (KJV)
Acts
10:38
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all
that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
1
John 3:8
8 He that committeth sin is of the
devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of
God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8 (KJV)
3.The first prophesy and promise of redemption
included healing
Genesis 3:15
15 And I will put enmity between thee and
the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and
thou shalt bruise his heel.
Gen 3:15 (KJV)
Isaiah
53:5
5 But he was wounded for our
transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our
peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)
Matthew
8:16-17
16 When the even was come, they brought
unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with
his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our
sicknesses.
Matt 8:16-17 (KJV)
1
Peter 2:24
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own
body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
4. The first recorded bodily affliction came
through wrong doing
Genesis 20:1-18
1 And Abraham journeyed from thence
toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in
Gerar.
2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife,
She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
Abimelech is reproved for her in a dream and rebukes Abraham
3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream
by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the
woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.
4 But Abimelech had not come near her:
and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?
5 Said he not unto me, She is my
sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the
integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.
6 And God said unto him in a dream, Yea,
I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld
thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
7 Now therefore restore the man his
wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt
live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die,
thou, and all that are thine.
8 Therefore Abimelech rose early in the
morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears:
and the men were sore afraid.
9 Then Abimelech called Abraham, and
said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that
thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds
unto me that ought not to be done.
10 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What
sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?
11 And Abraham said, Because I thought,
Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for
my wife's sake.
12 And yet indeed she is my
sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my
mother; and she became my wife.
13 And it came to pass, when God caused
me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her, This is thy
kindness which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come,
say of me, He is my brother.
He restores Sarah
14 And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen,
and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and
restored him Sarah his wife.
15 And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is
before thee: dwell where it pleaseth thee.
16 And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have
given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to
thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other:
thus she was reproved.
17 So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed
Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
18 For the LORD had fast closed up all
the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.
Gen 20:1-18 (KJV)
5. The first recorded healing was by the prayer of
a prophet
Genesis 20:17-18
17 So Abraham prayed unto God: and God
healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
18 For the LORD had fast closed up all the
wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.
6. G-d made covenants with His people to heal them
Exodus 15:26
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently
hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his
sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will
put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians:
for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

The prophet is sent to reprove hypocrisy
1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like
a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their
sins.
2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to
know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance
of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in
approaching to God.
He describes a counterfeit fast, and a true one
3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they,
and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou
takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and
exact all your labours.
4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate,
and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this
day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a
day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a
bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call
this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of
wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and
that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring
the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou
cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
The rewards of godliness
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the
morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness
shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall
answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away
from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking
vanity;
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the
hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity,
and thy darkness be as the noonday:
11 And the LORD shall guide thee
continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou
shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail
not.
12 And they that shall be of thee
shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many
generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer
of paths to dwell in.
and of keeping the sabbath
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the
sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a
delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing
thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own
words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the
LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed
thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath
spoken it.

11:1-3
1 And when the people complained,
it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was
kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that
were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
2 And the people cried unto Moses; and
when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.
3 And he called the name of the place
Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.
Num 11:1-3 (KJV)
Numbers
12:13-14
10 And the cloud departed from off the
tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow:
and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my
lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly,
and wherein we have sinned.
12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom
the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.
13 And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying,
Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.
14 And the LORD said unto Moses, If her
father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her
be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
Num 12:10-14 (KJV)
Numbers
21:1-3
1 And when king Arad the
Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of
the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them
prisoners.
2 And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD,
and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will
utterly destroy their cities.
3 And the LORD hearkened to the voice of
Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and
their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.
The people, murmuring, are plagued with fiery serpents
4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by
the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people
was much discouraged because of the way.
5 And the people spake against God, and
against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the
wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and
our soul loatheth this light bread.
6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among
the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
7 Therefore the people came to Moses,
and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against
thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses
prayed for the people.
8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make
thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that
every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and
put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man,
when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
Num 21:1-9 (KJV)
John
3:14-16
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in
the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he
gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
John 3:14-16 (KJV)
10.Healing was promised on condition of obedience
Leviticus 26
1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven
image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any
image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your
God.
2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence
my sanctuary: I am the LORD.
3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my
commandments, and do them;
4 Then I will give you rain in due season,
and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield
their fruit.
5 And your threshing shall reach unto the
vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat
your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
6 And I will give peace in the land, and
ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil
beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and
they shall fall before you by the sword.
8 And five of you shall chase an hundred,
and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall
fall before you by the sword.
9 For I will have respect unto you, and
make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
10 And ye shall eat old store, and bring
forth the old because of the new.
11 And I will set my tabernacle among you:
and my soul shall not abhor you.
12 And I will walk among you, and will be your
God, and ye shall be my people.
13 I am the LORD your God, which
brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their
bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
Lev 26:1-13 (KJV)
Deuteronomy
28
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt
hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to
do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God
will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on
thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy
God.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in
the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy
body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of
thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5 Blessed shall be thy basket and
thy store.
6 Blessed shalt thou be when
thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that
rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against
thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon
thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he
shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy
people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the
commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see
that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous
in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit
of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good
treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless
all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou
shalt not borrow.
13 And the LORD shall make thee the head,
and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath;
if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command
thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of
the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to
the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
