Deborah’s Drash Commentary:

35 Facts About Sickness and Healing[3]

Part V

26. Healing is part of the children’s bread and their promised right by virtue of redemption

Matthew 7:7-11

Mat 7:7  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Mat 7:8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Mat 7:9  Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

Mat 7:10  Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

Mat 7:11  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Matthew 15:22-28

Mat 15:22  And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

Mat 15:23  But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

Mat 15:24  But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Mat 15:25  Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Mat 15:26  But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

Mat 15:27  And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

Mat 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Matthew 17:19-20

Mat 17:19  Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

Mat 17:20  And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Matthew 21:22

Mat 21:22  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Mark 9:23

Mar 9:23  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Mark 11:23-24

Mar 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Mar 11:23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mar 11:24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Luke 13:16

Luk 13:16  And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

John 3:13-17

Joh 3:13  And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Joh 3:14  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

Joh 3:15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Luke 16:23-26

Joh 16:23  And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Joh 16:24  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Joh 16:25  These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

Joh 16:26  At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

1 John 3:8

1Jo 3:8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:20-22

20 if our hearts know something against us, God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts know nothing against us, we have confidence in approaching God; 22 then, whatever we ask for, we receive from him; because we are obeying his commands and doing the things that please him.[4]

1 John 5:14-15

1Jo 5:14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

1Jo 5:15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

3 John 2

3Jo 1:2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Soul 5590 - Greek

5590  psuche  psoo-khay'

from 5594; breath, i.e. (by implication) spirit, abstractly or concretely (the animal sentient principle only; thus distinguished on the one hand from 4151, which is the rational and immortal soul; and on the other from 2222, which is mere vitality, even of plants: these terms thus exactly correspond respectively to the Hebrew 5315, 7307 and 2416):--heart (+ -ily), life, mind, soul, + us, + you.

Prospereth  2137 - Greek

2137  euodoo  yoo-od-o'-o

from a compound of 2095 and 3598; to help on the road, i.e. (passively) succeed in reaching; figuratively, to succeed in business affairs:--(have a) prosper(-ous journey).

The more Word we put into our lives, the more we will walk in victory, success and health.  Yahweh wants us to walk victoriously in every area of our life, sickness steals, kills and destroys the long life He promised us (Psalm 91) and keeps us from fulfilling our call to preach the Torah/Word to a lost and dying world.  When Israel walked in the Torah and was obedient no one could touch them, no sickness or disease could destroy them, they were more than conquerors in every area of life.   When we walk in the truth of His Torah/Word In Messiah Yeshua/Christ Jesus then the Word says we also are More Than Conquerors

Rom 8:35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Rom 8:36  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Rom 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Rom 8:38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Rom 8:39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Conqueror - 5245 - Greek

5245  hupernikao  hoop-er-nik-ah'-o

from 5228 and 3528; to vanquish beyond, i.e. gain a decisive victory:--more than conquer.

27. Healing is one of the signs of the gospel to follow believers

Mark 16:15-20

Mar 16:17  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mar 16:18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Mar 16:19  So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Mar 16:20  And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

It is The Name (Baruch Ha Shem) of Yeshua that brings us victory in every area of our life, it is The Name that defeats the enemy in every area of our life.

28. Healing was not only for the Tanack/O.T. days (Exodus 15:26, Psalm 91, Psalm 103:3)

and not just for the millennium (Isaiah 30:26, 33:24, 35:1-10) it is also for this age, or the gospel is faulty and the Brit Hadasha/ReNewed Covenant is worse than the previous covenants G-d made with Israel

Matthew 8:17

17 This was done to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Yeshayahu,

“He himself took our weaknesses

and bore our diseases”[5]

Matthew 21:22

Mat 21:22  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

John 14:12-15

Joh 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Joh 14:13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Joh 14:14  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 15:7,16

Joh 15:7  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Joh 15:16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

2 Corinthians 3:6-15

6 He has even made us competent to be workers serving a New Covenant, the essence of which is not a written text but the Spirit. For the written text brings death, but the Spirit gives life.

7 Now if that which worked death, by means of a written text engraved on stone tablets, came with glory—such glory that the people of Israel could not stand to look at Moshe’s face because of its brightness, even though that brightness was already fading away— 8 won’t the working of the Spirit be accompanied by even greater glory? 9 For if there was glory in what worked to declare people guilty, how much more must the glory abound in what works to declare people innocent! 10 In fact, by comparison with this greater glory, what was made glorious before has no glory now. 11 For if there was glory in what faded away, how much more glory must there be in what lasts.

12 Therefore, with a hope like this, we are very open— 13 unlike Moshe, who put a veil over his face, so that the people of Israel would not see the fading brightness come to an end.

14 What is more, their minds were made stonelike; for to this day the same veil remains over them when they read the Old Covenant; it has not been unveiled, because only by the Messiah is the veil taken away. 15 Yes, till today, whenever Moshe is read, a veil lies over their heart. 16 “But,”  says the Torah, “whenever someone turns to Adonai, the veil is taken away.”[6]

1 Corinthians 12:1-11

1 But, brothers, I do not want you to go on being ignorant about the things of the Spirit. 2 You know that when you were pagans, no matter how you felt you were being led, you were being led astray to idols, which can’t speak at all. 3 Therefore, I want to make it clear to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says, “Yeshua is cursed!” and no one can say, “Yeshua is Lord,” except by the Ruach HaKodesh.

4 Now there are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. 5 Also there are different ways of serving, but it is the same Lord being served. 6 And there are different modes of working, but it is the same God working them all in everyone. 7 Moreover, to each person is given the particular manifestation of the Spirit that will be for the common good. 8 To one, through the Spirit, is given a word of wisdom; to another, a word of knowledge, in accordance with the same Spirit; 9 to another, faith, by the same spirit; and to another, gifts of healing, by the one Spirit; 10 to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the ability to judge between spirits; to another, the ability to speak in different kinds of tongues; and to yet another, the ability to interpret tongues. 11 One and the same Spirit is at work in all these things, distributing to each person as he chooses.[7]

Hebrews 2:3-4

3 then how will we escape if we ignore such a great deliverance? This deliverance, which was first declared by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him; 4 while God also bore witness to it with various signs, wonders and miracles, and with gifts of the Ruach HaKodesh which he distributed as he chose.[8]

29. Healing proves that G-d’s promises are true

2 Corinthians 1:20

2Co 1:20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

30. Healing is a part of salvation, for the Hebrew and Greek words for salvation all imply the idea of forgiveness, healing, health and full deliverance from the curse of sin.

Romans 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile. 17 For in it is revealed how God makes people righteous in his sight; and from beginning to end it is through trust—as the Tanakh puts it, “But the person who is righteous will live his life by trust.”[9]

Galatians 3:13

13 The Messiah redeemed us from the curse pronounced in the Torah by becoming cursed on our behalf; for the Tanakh says, “Everyone who hangs from a stake comes under a curse.”[10]

1 Peter 2:24

24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the stake, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness—by his wounds you were healed.[11]

If you have accepted Yeshua as Adonai/Lord  and Messiah/Savior, Christ, The Annointed One  in your life then you have been grafted into the Olive Tree of Israel and have become a partaker of the covenant of promise, the blessings of Abraham, which includes healing.
