Trusting Faithfulness                                      “Emunah”

Meditation Verse

Romans 5:1-2

THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

2  Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God’s favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.[2]

Quote Of The Day:

Rick Joyner

“If every Christian was immediately given authority to move mountains the world would certainly be in chaos.  The Lord has so instituted the laws of faith to also require maturity, wisdom, and most important of all, obedience to the King.  True faith is not faith in our faith-it is faith in Jesus/Yeshua.  Because it is faith in Him, it requires that we look to Him and see Him to believe.  As we look to the King and see who He is, our faith will grow and we will also bend our wills to His as we behold His great authority and glory.”

Deborah’s Drash Commentary:

Abraham/Avraham: Faith for this life and Faith that transcends death

Part II

Hebrews 11:11-12 Amplified Translation

 8  [Urged on] by faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went forth to a place which he was destined to receive as an inheritance; and he went, although he did not know or trouble his mind about where he was to go.

9  [Prompted] by faith he dwelt as a temporary resident in the land which was designated in the promise [of God, though he was like a stranger] in a strange country, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs with him of the same promise. [Gen. 12:1–8].

10  For he was [waiting expectantly and confidently] looking forward to the city which has fixed and firm foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God.

Avraham Faith’s Obedience – His Journey of Faith-Overview

I.                  He was called to go into a new life and a new land

II.             He was promised the Land

III.         He Obeyed, not knowing whither he went

IV.          He soujourned in the promised land with Isaac and Jacob

V.              Jacob was 15 years old when Avraham died

VI.          He dwelled in tents with his heirs

VII.      He looked for a permanent dwelling- a city in heaven

Avraham’s faith – Prompted by faith He kept the promise before his eyes and in his heart

9  [Prompted] by faith he dwelt as a temporary resident in the land which was designated in the promise [of God, though he was like a stranger] in a strange country, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs with him of the same promise. [Gen. 12:1–8].

Jewish New Testament Commentary –David Stern

After Avram arrived in the land of Cana‘an God told him, “I will give this land to your seed” (Genesis 12:7). But later he said, “I will give it to you and your seed forever” (Genesis 13:15).

Avraham lived as a temporary resident, wandering in and out of the Land (Genesis 12:6–10; 13:1–12, 17–18; 14:13–16; 20:1; 21:34; 22:19; 23:4) which God had promised him (13:14–18; 15:7, 18–21; 17:8); so did Yitzchak (Genesis 26:3–4) and Ya‘akov (Genesis 35:12, 27). But they all died without inheriting the land God had promised to them personally as well as to their descendants (v. 13).

Is the promise therefore unfulfillable? No, because Yeshua testified that Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya‘akov are still alive (Mt 22:31–32&N). When their seed, the Jewish people, come into full possession of Eretz-Israel, as God has promised them, the Patriarchs will be alive to inherit with them.

But perhaps the promise that Avram will inherit the Land has been spiritualized in the New Covenant? Perhaps “the Land” now refers to heaven and not to a piece of real estate in the Middle East? No, because God instructed Avram, “Arise, and walk through the length and breadth of the Land, for I will give it to you” (Genesis 13:17). Obviously God did not mean him to walk through heaven. God keeps his promises, he does not renege on them by spiritualizing them into something else. See Mt 5:5&N, 2C 1:20&N. [3]

10  For he was [waiting expectantly and confidently] looking forward to the city which has fixed and firm foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God.

He was looking forward to the city with permanent foundations, etc. The author is thinking Jewishly, remaining conscious of several levels of meaning. He does not deny the simple sense (p<shat) of the promises concerning the Land of Israel, where Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya‘akov lived as aliens and temporary residents (compare Genesis 23:4, 35:27, 47:9; Psalm 39:13(12); 1 Ke 2:11; and see v. 9).

But at the same time he implies that Avraham understood a deeper level of meaning in God’s promise, a meaning relating not only to the Land of Israel but to earth and heaven. This we learn from the author’s citing the phrase, “aliens and temporary residents on the earth,” from 1 Chronicles 29:15. The last three words could be rendered from the Greek as “in the Land,” according to the context here. But in 1 Chronicles the Hebrew word “ >al” means “on” not “in,” and the context there makes it clear that “ha<aretz” means “the earth.”

Avraham’s awareness of the deeper meaning (drash or remez; see Mt 2:15N) gave him the faith to remain obedient to God in the face of not receiving during his lifetime what had been promised, namely, the Land of Israel. This is why he could aspire to a better fatherland, a heavenly one (compare Pp 3:20), namely, the city with permanent foundations, of which the architect and builder is God (v. 10), elsewhere called “the city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem” (12:22; compare 13:14 and Ga 4:26[4]

2Pe 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Faith knows no time clock, because 1 day is a thousand years and a thousand years is but  a day to Yahweh, so what may seem like forever to us is but a day to the L-rd.   We are already exercising our faith in what we have not seen  because we have never seen Yeshua in the flesh, yet we believe in Him.  Daily we look for His return and do not give up hope. We have never seen heaven, yet in our hearts it is real.   We have never seen hell, but we know it is real also.  Why?  Because we believe the Torah/Word of Yahweh, and His word is our guarantee that we will see Yeshua face to face, and that our G-d reigns, and He will return as He promised and rule and reign in Jerusalem  and haSatan/The Advesary will be taken out of the picture for good.

Israel will once again be a praise in all the earth with all of Messianic Israel (Jew and Non-Jew) will be gathered together to rule and reign with Messiah during the Messianic Age and forever and ever.

Revelation 19

Messiah’s Return to Earth

Rev 19:7  Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Rev 19:8  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Rev 19:9  And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Rev 19:10  And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Rev 19:11  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Rev 19:12  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Rev 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Rev 19:14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Rev 19:15  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Rev 19:16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 20

HaSatan/The Advesary is bound

1     Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.

         2 And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

         3 and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

         4 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

         5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection.

6                    Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.[5]

Satan Freed, Doomed

       7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison,

         8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore.

         9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

         10           And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

[6]

Revelation 21:1-5

The New Heaven and Earth

1     Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

         2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

         3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,

         4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

            5          And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”[7]

Revelation 21:6-10

The New Jerusalem

       10        And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

         11           having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.

         12           It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.

         13           There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west.

         14           And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

         15          The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall.

         16           The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal.

         17           And he measured its wall, seventy-two yards, according to human measurements, which are also angelic measurements.

         18           The material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.

         19           The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

         20          the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

         21           And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

         22          I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

         23           And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

         24           The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.

         25           In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed;

         26           and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it;

27    and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 22:1-7

The River and the Tree of Life

1     Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

         2 in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

         3 There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him;

         4 they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.

         5 And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.

         6 And he said to me, “These words are faithful and true”; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His bond-servants the things which must soon take place.

            7          “And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book.”[8]

Faith means Keeping the Vision, The Word, before your eyes and not giving up hope.  Yea, let G-d be true and every man a lier.

Habakuk 2:1-2

1     I will stand on my guard post

And station myself on the rampart;

And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me,

And how I may reply when I am reproved.

                  2    Then the Lord answered me and said,

“Record the vision

And inscribe it on tablets,

That the one who reads it may run.

                  3    “For the vision is yet for the appointed time;

It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.

Though it tarries, wait for it;

For it will certainly come, it will not delay.[9]

I just want to share a testimony of how we kept the vision before our eyes for our house.   We had been married about 10 years and were still living in an apartment.   It was the desire of our hearts to have our own home.  In the natural this seemed impossible, but with G-d nothing is impossible.    Adonai taught me a long time ago when I was believing Him for a husband on how to write what I was believing Him for down, and the scriptures that promised it and then to stand in faith, keeping that vision before my eyes and as waited patiently for His timing it would come to pass.  I stood in faith for 10 years before  the L-rd brought my husband into my life, I knew that he was who the L-rd choose for me, and out of that union He blessed us with a wonderful son.

I used the same faith principle when it came to our home.  I wrote down what I was believing G-d for in detail, found the scriptures to stand on and stood, again for 10 years and in the 10th year we got our home.   One of the things that I wrote down in my prayer list was that we wanted a 3 car garage, the reason being that we bought a duplex and my sister and mother live next door to us, so we needed a big enough garage for all the cars.   The duplex we found was everything we prayed for, and we knew that this was the house for us, however it did not have a garage, no problem G-d would take care of that.    Well after we closed on the house my Aunt called my mom (who is her sister) and said, you need a garage I am going to pay for you to have a 3 car garage built and also pay for a sprinkling system for your lawn. Hallelujah!

Just recently our van broke down, again we had no money for a new car and could not afford a car payment.   That night I just said to G-d, we need a miracle, we need you to provide a car for us.  The next day, my sister called and said “I am going to give you my car because I want to buy a new one.” The one she gave us is in mint condition, low mileage and meets our needs. Every time we got into our van we thanked G-d that it would take us where we had to go and that it would not break down until we would be able to afford a new one.  Well the minute it broke down the L-rd provided what we needed.

You see some things we stood in faith for took a while to manifest and then in some cases what we prayed for came about immediately.  It is all in His timing.  There are some things that I have great faith and trust for G-d for and there are other areas where I need to exercise my faith and trust more, but this is how we grow and mature in our faith/Emunah walk/Halakah with Him by trusting and obeying and acting on His Word.

In January was my birthday and while I was at work on my birthday, I was just thinking, L-rd it would be nice to get flowers for my birthday.   It was just a thought, a whisper of a prayer to my heavenly father and that night the ladies from my prayer group came over with this huge beautiful bouquet of flowers for my birthday. Hallelujah!

The point I am trying to make is this, my husband, my son, my home, my ministry was already real to me in my spirit by faith.    It was in my heart and I knew that the L-rd would make a way to bring to pass what He promised in my life. He did in His perfect timing, and I know He will continue to do so as I stand in faith in His perfect timing.

I could give you many examples of G-d’s supernatural provisions in my life.  When I get discouraged and at times I am tempted to doubt His faithfulness all I need to do is remember His Word and His faithfulness and hope springs forth in my heart once again.   When doubt comes it is the voice of ha Saten/the Advesary, for he always speaks contrary to the Torah/Word of G-d, we must flee doubt the same way we flee sin.   Will doubts come?  Yes, but that does not mean we have to believe those doubts or act on them, we command them to go in Yeshua’s name and replace those doubts with His Word, which produces faith.

When it came to my ministry and my website, I had the vision within me and a desire in my heart to have a website, but did not know a thing about HTML, or how to do it, yet when I stepped out in faith the L-rd was there to help my by His  Ruach HaKodesh and He  lead me every step of the way and the website “Deborah’s Messianic Ministries” was born.

The same way with my writing, the L-rd told me I would be writing, the vision was within my heart, yet before I had the website every time I began to write something I drew a blank, but when I started to write for the website the words started flowing out of my heart and the Ruach HaKodesh gave me the anointing and helped me so His word would be published and that His Words would reach the World. In fact I never know what I am going to say, until I start hearing from the Ruach HaKodesh and I just write what He puts within my heart.  But I had to put feet to my faith, just as Avraham did and when I did the L-rd was there and all the glory goes to Him.

I have found in my own life, that Yahweh will reveal His plan for your life little by little as you walk by faith in His Word.   I have had prophetic words said over me over 20 years ago, and just now I see some of them coming to pass, and some I am still waiting for the manifestation of others.  I write what He tells me down, or what others have spoken to my by the Ruach HaKodesh and treasure them in my heart, pray over them and wait patiently for His perfect timing for these things to come to pass.

Over 20 years ago the L-rd told me that “No man would get the glory for what He was going to do in my life and ministry”  In other words no human would be able to say “I am the one who made Deborah who she is today, well if it wasn’t for me she would have never made it”  He wanted me to keep my eyes on Him and not what a person could do for me, it would totally be the L-rds doing.”   I keep that vision within my heart and step my step He leads me in the ministry He has called me to.   The same goes for you and your dreams and what Yahweh as anointed you and called you to do for the glory of G-d.

Gen 14:21  And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.

Gen 14:22  And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

Gen 14:23  That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

Avraham was not about to let any man take the glory for his success, his total dependence was upon Yahweh and not man and no man was going to be able to say that he made Abram rich, for his riches would come from Yahweh alone.

When Avraham was dwelling in tents  and waiting for the manifestation of G-d’s promise , he saw into the future through the eyes of faith and because that vision was  real within him,  by faith he already saw it as done, even though he did not see it manifest in his lifetime, he never doubted that it would not happen.

Remember This

 “G-d will make a way, where there seems to be no way, He works in ways we can not see, G-d will make a way for me” (and for you)
