9:11-14 Complete Jewish Bible
11 But when the Messiah appeared as cohen gadol of the
good things that are happening already, then, through the greater and more
perfect Tent which is not man-made (that is, it is not of this created world), 12
he entered the Holiest Place once and for all.
And he
entered not by means of the blood of goats and calves, but by means of his own
blood, thus setting people free forever. 13 For if sprinkling
ceremonially unclean persons with the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of
a heifer restores their outward purity; 14 then how much more the
blood of the Messiah, who, through the eternal Spirit, offered himself to God
as a sacrifice without blemish, will purify our conscience from works that lead
to death, so that we can serve the living God![2]

adds a new depth and dimension to their lives.
The feasts of Israel point to Jesus Christ as Lord of time and History.”

Leviticus 1:1-6:7 (5:26)
Isaiah 43:21-44;23
Romans 8:1-13
Overview of Portion
The book of Vayikra (Leviticus) primarily deals with what
are commonly called "sacrifices" or "offerings." According
to Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch: a "sacrifice" implies giving up
something that is of value to oneself for the benefit of another. An
"offering" implies a gift which satisfies the receiver. The Almighty
does not need our gifts. He has no needs or desires. The Hebrew word is korban,
which is best translated as a means of bringing oneself into a closer
relationship with the Almighty. The offering of korbanot was only for
our benefit to come close to the Almighty.
Ramban, a noted Spanish rabbi, explained that through the
vicarious experience of what happened to the animal korbanot, the transgressor
realized the seriousness of his transgression. This aided him in the process of
teshuva -- correcting his erring ways.
This week's portion includes the details of various types of
korbanot: burnt, flour offering (proof that one does not need to offer
"blood" to gain atonement), first grain, peace, sin (private and
communal), guilt korbanot (varied upon one's ability to pay), korban for
inadvertently expropriating something sacred to God, and also to help atone for
dishonesty.

Leviticus 4:3
3 If the anointed Kohen will sin, bringing guilt upon the
people; for his sin that he committed he shall offer a young bull, unblemished,
to YAHWEH as a sin offering.
It's interesting in this passage of Scripture that if the Priest sins
his sin will bring guilt upon the people. As an intercessor for the people,
which that priest is, if he is not right in his relationship with Yahweh then
he brings guilt upon the people with his actions.
Now think about this in how it relates to the leaders of congregations
today. If the leader of the congregations of today are not in submission to
Yahweh with faith in Yeshua and filled with the Ruach HaKodesh and following
the Torah of Yahweh, which is the constitution of the nation of Israel, how can
the Body be in order if the leader is out of order?
If the leader's life is not in order, for example in his family life,
then how can we expect that the congregation that he leads will be in order? If
the leader is not submitted to God as Yeshua was submitted to the Father then
how can we expect the Body to be submitted. How does a leader do this? By doing
as Yeshua did and that is being willing to surrender his life for the Body as
Yeshua surrendered His. Otherwise the sin of the leader will be passed on to
the Body as the Priest's sin was brought guilt upon the people of Israel.
Isaiah 43:24-28
4 You bought Me no cinnamon with silver, nor did you satisfy
Me with the fat of your offerings -- but you burdened Me with your sins, you
wearied Me with your iniquities. 5 I, only I, am the One Who wipes away your
willful sins for My sake, and I shall not recall your sins. 6 Remind Me! -- let
us contest one another; tell your side first that you may be vindicated. 7 Your
first patriarch erred, and your advocates betrayed Me. 8 So I have profaned the
holy princes; I handed Jacob to devastation and Israel to rebukes.
There has been a heated discussion over the Internet for the past couple
of weeks over what sins Yeshua died for. One group says that Yeshua did not die
for the sins of the individual but for the sin of corporate Israel. In this
passage from Isaiah Yahweh makes it perfectly clear that only He wipes away our
willful sins. I take that to mean our individual sins as well as the corporate
sin of the nation of Israel. For without individual sin there could be no
corporate sin. When Yeshua gave up His life becoming the Passover sacrifice He
paid the price for our individual sins because the Passover sacrifice was for
the individual. But in the shedding of His blood upon the altar in the Holies
of Holy in heaven He redeemed Himself, being our High Priest, and He redeemed
Israel as a people. Thus He fulfilled both aspects in redeeming us from our
individual sin and our corporate sin as Israel.
If we believe that all He did was to redeem Israel by His sacrifice then
we have sold Him short in what He came to do. That His sacrifice would only be
for the sin of Israel but not for the individuals that make up Israel seems a
bit incomprehensible to me. Scripture clearly states that Yeshua entered into
the Holy of Holies in heaven and poured out His blood upon the mercy seat of
the Ark of the Covenant for our sins. This act redeemed Him as He had become
the very embodiment of our sin thus He needed to be cleansed by the forgiveness
of His Father. Secondly He was offered up on Passover acting as our Passover
lamb being killed for our redemption. One act twice fulfilled. Because if this
were not so then Yeshua would have to die again to fulfill the sacrificial
requirement of Yom Kippur-the Day of Atonement and we are clearly told that He
does not have to do this as He died once and for all through His death at
Passover. This one act fulfilled the individual and corporate sacrificial
requirements of Torah.
Romans 8:1-9
1 Henceforth, there is no condemnation to those who in Yeshua
the Messiah do not walk in the flesh. 2 For the Torah of the spirit of life
that is in Yeshua the Messiah freed you from the "law of sin" and of
death. 3 For because the "law" was weak through the infirmity of the
flesh, God sent His Son in the likeness of the flesh of sin, because of sin,
that He might condemn sin in His flesh, 4 so that the righteousness of the
Torah might be fulfilled in us who do not walk by the flesh, but by the spirit
[Romans 7:14]. 5 For those who are in the flesh think [the things] of the
flesh, and those who are of the spirit think [the things] of the spirit [Romans
7:14]. 6 For the thinking of the flesh is death, but the thinking of the spirit
[is] life and shalom. 7 Because the thinking of the flesh is at enmity with
God, for it is not subject to the Torah of God because it is impossible. 8 And
those who are in the flesh are not able to please God. 9 Now you are not in the
flesh but in the spirit [Romans 7:14], if truly the spirit of God dwells in
you. But if a man does not have the spirit of the Messiah in him, this one is
not His.
Trying to live out the Torah in the flesh without faith in Yeshua will
bring death upon us. For without faith in the One who perfectly fulfilled the
Torah and redeemed us from the death penalty of Torah we live without faith and
without the Spirit of God. In doing this we bring the death penalty of Torah
upon us because the Torah in and of itself cannot save only Yeshua can. The
Torah points the way to Yeshua and His sacrifice for us and the redemption from
sin that He offers us.
Our flesh represents the ways of the world without God guiding it. But
in surrendering ourselves to Yeshua we receive the Spirit of life that frees us
from the death penalty under Torah and blesses us with the promise of eternal
life contained in the Torah. But the Torah alone cannot give us this blessing
but the shed blood of Yeshua can! He gives us this blessing of eternal life
both as individuals and as the reborn nation of Israel. All those who are
reborn through Yeshua enter into the gates of Israel, both the native born and
the wayward son and daughter and the sojourner. Israel is more than just
bloodlines. It is a matter of faith in Yeshua and following His instructions to
us - His people. Those instructions are contained in the Torah that is embodied
in Yeshua and Yeshua alone. Man cannot gain redemption through blind obedience
to the commandments alone nor through prayer or good deeds. That is trying to
buy the salvation of Yahweh. He cannot be bought as His gift of salvation is
freely given.
So reach out this day and accept that Yeshua died for your sins and the
sins of the people of Israel. Stand up and hold your head high as one of the
blood washed children of Yahweh reborn as an individual and part of a reborn
Israel!Forgiveness is the act of admitting that we are like other
people…Christina Baldwin
