Corinthians 6:19 –20 Complete Jewish Bible
19 Or don’t you know that your body is a temple for the Ruach
HaKodesh who lives inside you, whom you received from God? The fact is, you
don’t belong to yourselves; 20 for you were bought at a price. So
use your bodies to glorify God.[2]
Quote Of The Day:
Eddie Chumney
“The Seven Festivals of Messiah”
“Traditionally
non-Jewish Bible believers understand the festivals to be exclusively Jewish
feasts. However Leviticus/Vayikra
23:1-2,4, tells us very clearly that theses are festivals of the L-rd. In reality G-d in His divine wisdom
instructed us that theses festivals are for both Jew and non-Jew and are to be
celebrated jointly with each other.
Deuteronomy/Devarim 16:10-11,14-16”
Deborah’s Drash Commentary:
Understanding the Passover/Pesach Season[3]
Part III
Exo 11:4 And Moses
said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of
Egypt:
Exo 11:5 And all
the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh
that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of
beasts.
Exo 11:6 And there
shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none
like it, nor shall be like it any more.
Exo 11:7 But
against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against
man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between
the Egyptians and Israel.
Exo 12:5 Your lamb
shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
Spiritual
Application (Halacha). G-d
always distinguishes between the believers and the world (Exodus [Shemot]
12:29-30).
Exo
12:29
And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn
in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto
the firstborn of the captive that was in
the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
Exo
12:30
And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the
Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there
was not a house where there was
not one dead.
This can be seen in the examples that follow.
The firstborn of both man and beast was to be set aside and given to G-d
(Exodus [Shemot] 13:2,11-13).
Exo 13:2 Sanctify
unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of
Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
Exo 13:11 And it
shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he
sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,
Exo
13:12
That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and
every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD'S.
Exo
13:13
And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou
wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of
man among thy children shalt thou redeem.
The
theme of the firstborn runs throughout the Bible. Cain was set aside for Abel
(Genesis [Bereishit] 4:1-8);
Gen 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she
conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Gen 4:2 And she
again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a
tiller of the ground.
Gen 4:3 And in
process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground
an offering unto the LORD.
Gen 4:4 And Abel,
he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the
LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Gen 4:5 But unto
Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his
countenance fell.
Gen 4:6 And the
LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
Gen 4:7 If thou
doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth
at the door. And unto thee shall be his
desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Gen 4:8 And Cain
talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field,
that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Ishmael
for Isaac (Yitzchak) (Genesis [Bereishit] 16:1,11-12,15;
17:17-19);
Gen 16:1 Now Sarai
Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose
name was Hagar.
Gen
16:11
And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt
call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
Gen
16:12
And he will be a wild man; his hand will be
against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the
presence of all his brethren.
Gen
16:15
And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar
bare, Ishmael.
Gen
17:17
Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart,
Shall a child be born unto him that is
an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
Gen
17:18
And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
Gen
17:19
And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou
shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an
everlasting covenant, and with his seed
after him.
Esau for Jacob (Ya'akov) (Genesis [Bereishit]
25:19-26;
Gen
25:19
And these are the generations of
Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:
Gen
25:20
And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter
of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
Gen
25:21
And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him,
and Rebekah his wife conceived.
Gen
25:22
And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am
I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
Gen
25:23
And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are
in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the
younger.
Gen
25:24
And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
Gen
25:25
And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they
called his name Esau.
Gen
25:26
And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's
heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was
threescore years old when she bare them.
Romans 9:8-13

8 In other words, it is not the physical children who
are children of God, but the children the promise refers to who are considered
seed. 9 For this is what the promise said: “At the time set, I
will come; and Sarah will have a son.” 10 And even more to the
point is the case of Rivkah; for both her children were conceived in a single
act with Yitzchak, our father; 11 and before they were born, before
they had done anything at all, either good or bad (so that God’s plan might
remain a matter of his sovereign choice, not 12 dependent on what
they did, but on God, who does the calling), it was said to her, “The older
will serve the younger.” 13 This accords with where it is
written, “Ya‘akov I loved, but Esav I hated.”[4]
and
Egypt (Mitzrayim) for Israel.
Spiritually,
G-d gave us these examples to teach us that the firstborn after the flesh (that
which is natural) is set aside to bring forth the firstborn after the spirit
(that which is spiritual). In this process, G-d distinguishes between the first
or natural birth and the second or spiritual birth.
The
first birth constitutes us as sinners and the second birth makes us believers
and children of G-d
John [Yochanan] 1:12; 3:1-7;
12 But to as many as did receive him, to those who put
their trust in his person and power, he gave the right to become children of
God, 13 not because of bloodline, physical impulse or human
intention, but because of God.[5]
3:1-7
3 1 There
was a man among the P<rishim, named Nakdimon, who was a ruler of the
Judeans. 2 This man came to Yeshua by night and said to him, “Rabbi,
we know it is from God that you have come as a teacher; for no one can do these
miracles you perform unless God is with him.” 3 “Yes, indeed,”
Yeshua answered him, “I tell you that unless a person is born again from above,
he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
4 Nakdimon said to him, “How can a
grown man be ‘born’? Can he go back into his mother’s womb and be born a second
time?” 5 Yeshua answered, “Yes, indeed, I tell you that unless a
person is born from water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. 6
What is born from the flesh is flesh, and what is born from the Spirit is
spirit. 7 Stop being amazed at my telling you that you must be born
again from above![6]
Romans 9:8-13;
8 In other words, it is not the physical children who
are children of God, but the children the promise refers to who are considered
seed. 9 For this is what the promise said: “At the time set, I
will come; and Sarah will have a son.” 10 And even more to the
point is the case of Rivkah; for both her children were conceived in a single
act with Yitzchak, our father; 11 and before they were born, before
they had done anything at all, either good or bad (so that God’s plan might
remain a matter of his sovereign choice, not 12 dependent on what
they did, but on God, who does the calling), it was said to her, “The older
will serve the younger.” 13 This accords with where it is
written, “Ya‘akov I loved, but Esav I hated.”[7]
1 Corinthians
15:22; 15:45-47).
22 For just as in connection with Adam all die, so in
connection with the Messiah all will be made alive.[8]
45 In fact, the Tanakh says so: Adam, the first
man, became a living human being;but the last “Adam” has become a
life-giving Spirit. 46 Note, however, that the body from the Spirit
did not come first, but the ordinary human one; the one from the Spirit comes
afterwards. 47 The first man is from the earth, made of dust; the
second man is from heaven. [9]
Messianic
Fulfillment. Yeshua was the firstborn of
Mary (Miryam) naturally, and the firstborn of G-d spiritually
Matthew [Mattityahu]
1:21-25;
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to name
him Yeshua, [which means ‘Adonai saves’, ] because he will save his
people from their sins.”
22 All this happened in order to
fulfill what Adonai had said through the prophet,
23 “The virgin will conceive and bear a
son,
and they will call him Immanu’el.”
(The name means, “God is with us.”)
24 When Yosef awoke he did what
the angel of Adonai had told him to do—he took Miryam home to be his
wife, 25 but he did not have sexual relations with her until she had
given birth to a son, and he named him Yeshua.[10]
Romans 8:29;
29 because those whom he knew in advance, he also
determined in advance would be conformed to the pattern of his Son, so that he
might be the firstborn among many brothers; [11]
Colossians
1:15,18;
15 He is the visible image of the invisible God. He is
supreme over all creation, 16 because in connection with him were
created all things—in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones, lordships, rulers or authorities—they have all been created through
him and for him. 17 He existed before all things, and he holds
everything together.
18 Also he is head of the Body,
the Messianic Community—he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so
that he might hold first place in everything.[12]
Exo 12:5 Your lamb
shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
Spiritual
Application (Halacha). It
was through one man's sin that sin came into the world
Romans 5:12;
12 Here is how it works: it was through one individual
that sin entered the world, and through sin, death; and in this way death
passed through to the whole human race, inasmuch as everyone sinned. [13]
1 Timothy 2:12-14
12 but I do not permit a woman to teach a man or
exercise authority over him; rather, she is to remain at peace. 13 For
Adam was formed first, then Chavah. 14 Also it was not Adam who was
deceived, but the woman who, on being deceived, became involved in the
transgression. [14]
Because Adam, the first male, sinned, so a male, Yeshua,
must die to atone for that sin
Romans 5:17-19
17 For if, because of the offence of one
man, death ruled through that one man; how much more will those receiving the
overflowing grace, that is, the gift of being considered righteous, rule in
life through the one man Yeshua the Messiah!
18 In other words, just as it was
through one offence that all people came under condemnation, so also it is
through one righteous act that all people come to be considered righteous. 19
For just as through the disobedience of the one man, many were made
sinners, so also through the obedience of the other man, many will be made
righteous.[15]
