1:13 Complete Jewish Bible
3 He has rescued us from the domain of
darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son.[2]
Quote Of The Day:
Stewertant Bible School Scotland
“ Undoubtedly
Yahweh’s festival’s were initially given to the people of Israel, for it was
His plan that through them salvation was to be proclaimed to the World. But the feasts are the Lord’s not Israel’s
or Judah’s but Yahweh’s remember this vital fact”
Deborah’s Drash Commentary:
Understanding the Passover/Pesach Season[3]
Part IV
6. It is a lamb for a house (Exodus [Shemot] 12:3-4).
Exo 12:3 Speak ye
unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every
man a lamb, according to the house of their
fathers, a lamb for an house:
Exo 12:4 And if the
household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his
house take it according to the number of
the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the
lamb.
Spiritual Application (Halacha). G-d's intention was that all
(households) experience salvation. The lamb was a lamb for the house. By
believing in the Messiah Yeshua, we become members of the household of
faith
Galatians 6:10;
CJB
10 Therefore, as the opportunity arises, let us do
what is good to everyone, and especially to the family of those who are
trustingly faithful.[4]
Ephesians 2:19
19 So then, you are no longer foreigners and
strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow-citizens with God’s people and
members of God’s family[5]
Salvation
for a household is available to all who believe in the Messiah, Yeshua,
the Lamb of G-d
Genesis [Bereishit] 7:1; 18:16-19;
Gen 7:1 And the
LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I
seen righteous before me in this generation.
Gen
18:16
And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham
went with them to bring them on the way.
Gen
18:17
And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
Gen
18:18
Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and
all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
Gen
18:19
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household
after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment;
that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
Joshua [Yehoshua]
24:15;
Jos
24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom
ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods
of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will
serve the LORD.
John [Yochanan]
4:46-54; CJB
46 He went again to Kanah in the Galil, where he had
turned the water into wine. An officer in the royal service was there; his son
was ill in K’far-Nachum. 47 This man, on hearing that Yeshua had
come from Y’hudah to the Galil, went and asked him to come down and heal his
son, for he was at the point of death. 48 Yeshua answered, “Unless
you people see signs and miracles, you simply will not trust!” 49 The
officer said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” 50 Yeshua
replied, “You may go, your son is alive.” The man believed what Yeshua said and
left. 51 As he was going down, his servants met him with the news
that his son was alive 52 So he asked them at what time he had
gotten better; and they said, “The fever left him yesterday at one o’clock in
the afternoon.” 53 The father knew that that was the very hour when
Yeshua had told him, “Your son is alive;” and he and all his household trusted.
54 This was a second sign that Yeshua did; he did it after he had
come from Y’hudah into the Galil.[6]
Luke 19:5-10;
5 When he came to the place, he looked up and said to
him, “Zakkai! Hurry! Come down, because I have to stay at your house today!” 6
He climbed down as fast as he could and welcomed Yeshua joyfully. 7 Everyone
who saw it began muttering, “He has gone to be the house-guest of a sinner.” 8
But Zakkai stood there and said to the Lord, “Here, Lord, I am giving
half of all I own to the poor; and if I have cheated anyone, I will pay him
back four times as much.” 9 Yeshua said to him, “Today salvation has
come to this house, inasmuch as this man too is a son of Avraham. 10 For
the Son of Man came to seek and save what was lost.”[7]
Acts 16:15,31;
18:3,8
15 After she and the members of her household had been
immersed, she gave us this invitation: “If you consider me to be faithful to
the Lord, come and stay in my house.” And she insisted till we went.[8]
31 They said, “Trust in the Lord Yeshua, and you will
be saved—you and your household!”[9]
Acts 18:3-8
3 and because he had the same trade as they, making
tents, he stayed on with them; and they worked together.
4 Sha’ul also began carrying on
discussions every Shabbat in the
synagogue, where he tried to convince both Jews and Greeks. 5 But
after Sila and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Sha’ul felt pressed by the
urgency of the message and testified in depth to the Jews that Yeshua is the
Messiah. 6 However when they set themselves against him and began
hurling insults, he shook out his clothes and said to them, “Your blood be on
your own heads! For my part, I am clean; from now on, I will go to the Goyim!”
7 So he left them and went into
the home of a “God-fearer” named Titius Justus, whose house was right next door
to the synagogue. 8 Crispus, the president of the synagogue, came to
trust in the Lord, along with his whole household; also many of the Corinthians
who heard trusted and were immersed.[10]
Messianic Fulfillment. There is a progressive revelation of the Lamb in the Bible. First,
there is a lamb for a house
Exodus [Shemot]
12:3-4;
Exo 12:3 Speak ye
unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every
man a lamb, according to the house of their
fathers, a lamb for an house:
Exo 12:4 And if the
household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his
house take it according to the number of
the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the
lamb.
second,
a lamb for a nation
John [Yochanan]
11:49-52
49 But one of them, Kayafa, who was cohen gadol
that year, said to them, “You people don’t know anything!” 50 You don’t
see that it’s better for you if one man dies on behalf of the people, so that
the whole nation won’t be destroyed.” 51 Now he didn’t speak this
way on his own initiative; rather, since he was cohen gadol that year,
he was prophesying that Yeshua was about to die on behalf of the nation, 52
and not for the nation alone, but so that he might gather into one the
scattered children of God.[11]
and
finally, a lamb for the world
John [Yochanan]
1:29
29 The next day, Yochanan saw Yeshua coming toward him
and said, “Look! God’s lamb! The one who is taking away the sin of the world! 30
This is the man I was talking about when I said, ‘After me is coming
someone who has come to rank above me, because he existed before me.’ [12]
Genesis (Bereishit)
22 is known in Hebrew as the Akeidah, or the binding of the sacrifice.
In Genesis (Bereishit)
22:7, Isaac (Yitzchak) asked, "Where is the lamb?"
en 22:7 And Isaac
spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and
the wood: but where is the lamb for a
burnt offering?
The
lamb that Isaac (Yitzchak) asked about is Yeshua
Isaiah [Yeshayahu]
53:7
Isa 53:7 He was
oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as
a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he
openeth not his mouth.
7. A Passover (Pesach) lamb was to
be killed between the evenings
Exodus [Shemot]
12:6
Exo 12:6 And ye
shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole
assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
The biblical day goes from evening to evening, from sundown to
sundown, which is roughly 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Genesis
[Bereishit] 1:5,8,13,19,23,31.
Gen 1:5 And God
called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the
morning were the first day.
Gen 1:13 And the
evening and the morning were the third day.
Gen 1:19 And the evening
and the morning were the fourth day.
Gen 1:23 And the
evening and the morning were the fifth day.
Gen 1:31 And God
saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it
was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
The day (6:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) is divided into two
12-hour periods. The evening runs from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The morning runs
from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Each 12-hour period is divided into two smaller
portions. From 6:00 a.m. to noon is the morning part of the day. From noon to
6:00 p.m. is the evening part of the day. The phrase, "between the
evening"
from
Exodus [Shemot] 12:6
Exo 12:6 And ye
shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole
assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
refers to the period
of the day that goes from noon to 6:00 p.m., which is exactly 3:00 p.m. This
would be the ninth hour of the day, counting from 6:00 a.m.
Evening Morning |---------------------------|---------------------------| 6 p.m. 6 a.m. 6 p.m. Morning Evening |--------------|------------|6 a.m. Noon 6 p.m. |---------------------|-----|6 a.m. 3 p.m. 6 p.m. |---------------------| The 9th hour of the day = 3 p.m.
Messianic Fulfillment. Yeshua died at the ninth hour of the day
Matthew [Mattityahu]
27:45-50
45 From
noon until three o’clock in the afternoon, all the Land was covered with
darkness. 46 At about three, Yeshua uttered a loud cry, “Eli!
Eli! L’mah sh’vaktani? (My God! My God! Why have you deserted me?)” 47
On hearing this, some of the bystanders said, “He’s calling for Eliyahu.”
48 Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, soaked it in vinegar,
put it on a stick and gave it to him to drink. 49 The rest
said, “Wait! Let’s see if Eliyahu comes and rescues him.” 50 But
Yeshua, again crying out in a loud voice, yielded up his spirit.[13]
This would be exactly 3:00 p.m. (the
ninth hour, counting from 6:00 a.m.).
