 Quote Of The Day:

 Passover-God’s Festival of Redemption – Dr. Samuel Bacchucchi PHD

“In Passover we meet Judaism and Christianity at their core, the same and yet different, no other religious ritual better reveals the organic relationship that exists between Judaism and Christianity more than the Passover meal partaken of and transformed by Jesus into the very symbol of His redemption.”

Genesis 3:24-15

14     The Lord God said to the serpent,

“Because you have done this,

Cursed are you more than all cattle,

And more than every beast of the field;

On your belly you will go,

And dust you will eat

All the days of your life;

                  15  And I will put enmity

Between you and the woman,

And between your seed and her seed;

He shall bruise you on the head,

And you shall bruise him on the heel.”[3]

Isaiah 53:9-10a

9                His grave was assigned with wicked men,

Yet He was with a rich man in His death,

Because He had done no violence,

Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

                  10 But the Lord was pleased

To crush Him, putting Him to grief; .[4]

Isaiah 53:12

12              Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great,

And He will divide the booty with the strong;

Because He poured out Himself to death,

And was numbered with the transgressors;

Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,

And interceded for the transgressors.[5]

Matthew 20:17-19

17  And as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside along the way and said to them,

18  Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes; and they will sentence Him to death

19    And deliver Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and whipped and crucified, and He will be raised [to life] on the third day.[6]

John 19:16-19

16  Then he delivered Him over to them to be crucified.

17  And they took Jesus and led [Him] away; so He went out, bearing His own cross, to the spot called The Place of the Skull—in Hebrew it is called Golgotha.

18  There they crucified Him, and with Him two others—one on either side and Jesus between them. [Isa. 53:12].

19    And Pilate also wrote a title (an inscription on a placard) and put it on the cross. And the writing was: Jesus the Nazarene, the King of the Jews.[7]

Luke 23:44-46

44  It was now about the sixth hour (midday), and darkness enveloped the whole land and earth until the ninth hour (about three o’clock in the afternoon),

45  While the sun’s light faded or was darkened; and the curtain [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was torn in two. [Exod. 26:31–35].

46   And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit! And with these words, He expired. [Ps. 31:5].[8]

Psalm 16:9-11

9                Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices;

My flesh also will dwell securely.

                  10  For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol;

Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

                  11  You will make known to me the path of life;

In Your presence is fullness of joy;

In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.[9]

Mark 16:2-5

2  And very early on the first day of the week they came to the tomb; [by then] the sun had risen.

3  And they said to one another, Who will roll back the stone for us out of [the groove across the floor at] the door of the tomb?

4  And when they looked up, they [distinctly] saw that the stone was already rolled back, for it was very large.

5                And going into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting [there] on the right [side], clothed in a [long, stately, sweeping] robe of white, and they were utterly amazed and struck with terror.[10]

Mark 16:6

6                And he said to them, Do not be amazed and terrified; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He has risen; He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. [Ps. 16:10].[11]

Isaiah 53:10 -11

10             But the Lord was pleased

To crush Him, putting Him to grief;

If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,

He will see His offspring,

He will prolong His days,

And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.

                  11  As a result of the anguish of His soul,

He will see it and be satisfied;

By His knowledge the Righteous One,

My Servant, will justify the many,

As He will bear their iniquities.[12]

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

3  For I passed on to you first of all what I also had received, that Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for our sins in accordance with [what] the Scriptures [foretold], [Isa. 53:5–12].

4        That He was buried, that He arose on the third day as the Scriptures foretold, [Ps. 16:9, 10].[13]

1 Corinthians 15:20-22

20  But the fact is that Christ (the Messiah) has been raised from the dead, and He became the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep [in death].

21  For since [it was] through a man that death [came into the world, it is] also through a Man that the resurrection of the dead [has come].

22   For just as [because of their union of nature] in Adam all people die, so also [by virtue of their union of nature] shall all in Christ be made alive.[14]

Romans 6:1-3

WHAT SHALL we say [to all this]? Are we to remain in sin in order that God’s grace (favor and mercy) may multiply and overflow?

2  Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?

3        Are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?[15]

Romans 6:4

4        We were buried therefore with Him by the baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life.[16]
