Quote Of The Day:
Glen &
Kim Cambell (Yes the country western singer and TV star)
“What is in
the Torah that I would not want to do?
Now for the first time in my life I can say with King David “May thy
compassion come to me that I may live, for thy Torah is my delight” We have
found a place of peace, grace and happiness in our new understanding and
application of the entire Word of God to our lives.”
Deborah’s Drash Commentary:
Remember What The Lord Has done For you
As We enter into a New Year
As the World enters into a
new year, there will be fireworks, celebrations, drinking and in some cases
(with believers) prayer.
I look at the New Year
that the World celebrates as another year to look back an thank Adonai for all
of His blessings,it is a time that we spend, as a family to pray in the New
Year that Gods perfect will would be done in our lives and with the hope that
this might be the year that Messiah Yeshua returns for His Bride and that maybe
this year in Jerusalem will be the year that Messiah returns to reign, then and
only then will there truly by Peace in this World.
As I was praying about
what to say for today the Lord dropped into my spirit the Word ‘Remember”. As you study the Word of God it is amazing
how many times the Lord has commanded us to “Remember” what He has done. The Biblical Feasts were instituted by God
so that His People the nation of Israel (which includes those who have been
“Grafted Into the Olive Tree”) would “Remember” all that the Lord had done for
Israel. The weekly Sabbath is a time
set aside to “Remember” God’s creation and to rest in His love. When we take communion it is a time to
remember what Yeshua did for us as the
Lamb of God who took away the sins of the World. Even the Covenant Names of God found in the
Torah cause us to “Remember” the
different aspects of who He is ‘The Holy one of Israel”. His Covenants
and memorials were also set up so we would “remember” our covenant relationship
we have with Him and the covenant relationship He has with us “Baruch Ha Shem
Adonai”.
This New Year (not to be
confused with the Biblical New Year) should once again be a time for us to
“Remember” all that the Lord has done for us.
There are at least 194 scriptures
commanding us to “Remember” something the Lord has done, what He is going to
do, or what He remembers about us. Why
does God have to command us to “Remember”?
Because He knows how easily we forget.
There’s a popular saying that goes ”How Soon We Forget” and is usually
said to someone who starts forgetting what has been done for them in the past
and they become unthankful and ungrateful.
When we “Remember” all
that the Lord has done for us, it keeps us humble and keeps us in an attitude
of praise and thanksgiving. When we do
not study His Word, “How Soon We Forget” how much He loves us and “How Soon We
forget” what we are called to do. That
is why we are commanded to “Remember”

every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

Fringe worn to remember the Commandments of God
39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe,
that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD,
and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after
which ye use to go a whoring:
40 That ye may remember, and do all my
commandments, and be holy unto your God.
41 I am the LORD your God, which
brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your
God.
Num 15:39-41 (KJV)
Remember
When we are tested
1 All the commandments which I command
thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in
and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers.
2 And thou shalt remember all the way
which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to
humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart,
whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
Deut 8:1-2 (KJV)
Remember
When we have an abundance
11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy
God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes,
which I command thee this day:
12 Lest when thou hast eaten and art
full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
13 And when thy herds and thy flocks
multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is
multiplied;
14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou
forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt,
from the house of bondage;
15 Who led thee through that great and
terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and
drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of
the rock of flint;
16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with
manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might
prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
17 And thou say in thine heart, My power
and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.
18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy
God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may
establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this
day.
19 And it shall be, if thou do at all
forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship
them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
20 As the nations which the LORD destroyeth
before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the
voice of the LORD your God.
Deut 8:11-20 (KJV)

pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to
the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept
holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why
art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for
the help of his countenance.

is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good
of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which
God giveth him: for it is his portion.
19 Every man also to whom God hath given
riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his
portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.

LORD, and that thought upon his name.
17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD
of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man

serveth him not.

blessings, His promises to you and also write down daily what you have to be
thankful for to the Lord for that day.
As you walk with Him, you will have a personal reminder of the goodness
of the Lord in your life so you will not forget all that He has done for you,
this will keep your heart thankful and your mouth filled with praise, and your
mind stayed on Him and His Word so you will not forget.

New Testament Publications) 1996.
[i] The Psalmist found great value in the Torah of God. Here in Psalm 119 he breaks the Torah down into eight different categories
-Law (Torah) – Connotes the whole will of God as imparted to man for his teaching
-Testimonies (edot)- Revelation (Torah) as a witness of God and His righteousness
-Precepts (pikudim)- Particular guidelines for the Redeemed
-Way (derech) – The path of life delineated for the Redeemed in the Torah
-Commandments (mitzvot)-There is a great reward for walking in them
-Statutes (hukim)—Permanent laws regulating the life of an individual as a member of society
-Ordinances (mishpatim, beter translated “judgments”) The judicial standard for fair dealings
-Word (debar or imrah) – General term for the expressed will of God
