Sh’ma/Shema

Sh’ma Yisrael, Adonai Eloheynu,

Adonai echod. Baruch shem k;vod

Malchuto l’olam voed.

Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God,

The Lord is one.

Praised be His Name, whose

Glorious majesty is forever and ever

Deuteronomy 6:4

Veahav’tah et Adonai Elohecha b’chol

L’vov-cha u-v’chol naf-she-cha u-v’chol m’oh-de-cha.

Veahav’tah l’rei-acha kamocha.

Bish’tai hamitsvot ha-eileh

Kol ha-to- rah t’lu-yah v’gam ha-n’vi-im.

And you shall love the Lord your God

With all you hear and with all your soul

And with all your might.

And you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

These two commandments sum up the whole of the

Torah and the prophets.
